Next stop across the wild Ocean being Canada! It has now been converted into a unique, comfortable but compact holiday home for 2 adults.

On the first floor of the the Tower there is a top of the range King-size bed with windows to enjoy the views on 3 sides and seating. This is accessed by a ladder type staircase so is not suitable for those with mobility problems, children or pets. All bedlinen and towels are provided.

Downstairs there is a shower/WC wet room and a fully functional kitchen/dining room. The fitted kitchen has a normal sized fridge with Icebox, microwave, an electric hob, kettle, toaster, sink and a full range of cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots/pans and cooking utensils.

Four Winds sits on top of a hill which can be accessed either by foot or car, up a private grass and gravel track with parking directly outside. A foldable wooden table & chairs and portable BBQ are provided for visitors to enjoy alfresco dining in their private garden surrounding the Tower.

Portnahaven and Port Weymss have a traditional Scottish pub (serving meals), a seasonal Tea Room, Celtic Craft shop, church, community centre, a beach with sheltered bay (used for wild swimming all year round!) and easily manageable walks through the villages and beautiful coastal community gardens. It is served 6 days a week with a bus service to/from most of the island going approximately every 1.5hrs.

Islay is known as the ‘Queen of the Hebrides’ for good reason and is the southern most Scottish Island enjoying the benefits of a temperate climate due to the Gulf Stream. The wild and rugged island of just over 3000 inhabitants is famed for it’s stunning scenery, amazing wildlife (including birds of prey, migrating geese, rare breeds such as corncrake & choughs, deer, seals & otters) as well as being the ‘Whisky Isle’ with 9 Distilleries currently and more coming very soon! The nearest to Four Winds is Bruichladdich a 20 minutes car/bus journey, also home to Botanist Gin too.

Thank you very much for letting us stay in this wonderful house! We were really blown away by the beautiful view from here on top of the hill, at our arrival. The house itself has really everything you need to live here (even soap to do you laundry by hand…) We can really encourage future visitors to cook here and eat outside on a clear and warm evening.
